... my first workday. Man, after being off work for so long it really takes some time to get used to regular work hours again! Good news first: My boss Christine is AMAZING - super sweet, super caring, very warmhearted and a lot of fun (I attended a conference call with her today and while the other people on the phone were talking she silently made fun of them - just hilarious!). And after some starting problems my e-mail finally worked and I am all set up to get straight down to business. The not so good news: Other than in my initial job description it does not seem like I would work with Deussen's clients and do classical PR and event management, but be Christine's assistant - which mainly involves arranging meetings and running errands for her, besides updating company's material, handling the relocation of the company's office (they will move in April) and be her "right hand", whatever that means. I was not so thrilled to hear that, but I have to remind myself that it was just my first day and that I should get a little routine BEFORE thinking of how I could show my interest in doing real PR stuff. (but you know me, that takes a little will power ;o).
Anyway, the conference call today was about their client BOMBAY SAPPHIERE Gin and their latest "product": Five handmade crystal bottles with sapphieres and diamonds on them for 200.000 US-Dollars EACH!!! (Read
more). There is a huge launch event coming up in NYC in March, which they were discussing the details about today - not that I will have anything to do with it :o( but it was still amazing - who would buy a bottle for that much money? Any volunteers *fg* ?
By the way: This is where I work (the grey building with the computer&video store in it) - just 2 blocks away from Times Square.

dickes bussi, lia
Hagott Laura... *gg*
Soweit ich über US-amerikanische Job-Praktiken informiert bin, ist das vollkommen normal... erstmal Fuss fassen, Vertrauen gewinnen und dann gibt man dir auch mal verantwortlichere Sachen ... ;)
by the way ist es meines Wissens auch net wirklich üblich gleich amal als Assistentin vom Chef anzufangen... sondern eher noch weiter unten...
egal...
