bar crawl in Washington

the weekend before Halloween D.C. is going C R A Z Y - downtown had a special called "nightmare on M street" - 15 dollar cover, over 20 bars, drinking specials and a whole lot of people dressed up (someone even dressed up as Arnold Scharzenegger aka "the governator"). so the logical step for unemployed laura was to book a hotel room near the Capitol for the weekend and get trashed!!!

hightlight of the bar crawl: a Japanese food place doing "saki bombs". cool ritual: you line up at the bar, get a glass filled with beer, two chopsticks on top and a shot of saki (Japanese rice schnapps) balancing on top of the sticks. at a sign everybody yells "I love saki" and drums with their fists on the counter of the bar until the shot drops into the beer - and then you chug it as fast as you can! D E L I C I O U S!!!

and the morning after we had some awsome unhealthy breakfast from Mc Donald's - my favourite: they have a breakfast burger called "mc griddle" with pancake bread dipped in syrup and filled with bacon, eggs and cheese. great!
